iValueHealth.NET teams with Smartcom Partners to promote healthcare in Senegal

Feb. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Providing healthcare in African countries has never been an easy job for any health actor, from governmental institutions to NGOs, from international organizations to private donors. It is well known that the most common health problems in Africa, such as child mortality, maternal death, malaria, sexual diseases etc. can be reduced by increasing health awareness. However, health inequality, discrepancies between access to healthcare in rural and urban areas, and lack of doctors make it often even harder to respond to all these health needs. Different types of health models and solutions have been envisaged, some with limited but quick impact, others with a broader effect over time.

iValueHealth.NET (http://www.ivaluehealth.net/) has partnered in the past with several health organizations in Africa to bring sustainable solutions to health shortages within different communities. The ongoing partnership with “Mairie de Dakar” (Senegal) provides every day access to health information for the people of Dakar. This contributes constantly to increasing health awareness and provides the possibility to connect citizens with medical professionals and other healthcare service providers. The free service has been running since 2013 and benefits have already started to be visible.

With the firm commitment of developing further innovative access to healthcare in African countries, iValueHealth.NET announces a new partnership in Senegal, with Smartcom Partners, a local communications company. The partnership will provide a complete online and mobile health platform, bridging the access and connectivity gap to educate larger population on most common African health problems and ways of managing them. “We enable everyone to have a first level of information at their fingertips, be able to connect and have access to primary care, request appointments and consult with a doctor anytime, anywhere. With Smartcom Partners, we continue our commitment to better health in Senegal, taking a step forward with the aid of technology,” stated Sergio Lozano, Director at iValueHealth.NET. “We are very happy to take the ongoing Dakar-based initiative to a larger scale in Senegal, and create a common ground for all the stakeholders across healthcare”, said Mr. Nourou Sy, CEO at Smartcom Partners.

iValueHealth.NET and Smartcom Partners will join their forces together to deploy integrated health education programs that respond to the local needs, through eHealth and mHealth services using basic technology such as web, mobile app, SMS, USSD, IVR etc.
