ACEhp Advocacy Committee Announces Key Strategic Initiatives for 2015

WASHINGTON - Feb. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- The Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp) announced today its Advocacy Committee’s key strategic initiatives for 2015. The Committee’s primary mission is to advocate on behalf of the continuing education (CE) health profession.  Each initiative was designed to ensure that stakeholders across the health, education, and regulatory industries understand the value of continuing education and its impact on patient outcomes and system-wide improvements.

The Advocacy Committee’s three initiatives for 2015 are: Internal Advocacy; External Advocacy; and Tools and Resources. Internal Advocacy promotes timely and regular communications both to and with  members through interviews, white papers, live meetings, town halls, and more. External Advocacy focuses on how ACEhp will promote the value of CE to media, policy makers, patient groups, and other key constituents. Through Tools and Resources, ACEhp looks to assist members with their own self-advocacy by providing communication tools and plans of action that can be used or adapted for use by their respective organizations. Collectively, these three initiatives foster a proactive approach to issues impacting the CE stakeholders and focus on building a “shared responsibility” model of advocacy with ACEhp members.

The 2015 initiatives were established, in large part, based on feedback the Advocacy Committee received from current ACEhp members.

“Our advocacy efforts this year will be member-centric,” said Scott Weber, CEO of Med-IQ and ACEhp Advocacy Committee Chair. “It is important that this committee act in concert with membership to make certain every stakeholder in healthcare understands the value of our work and how we improve healthcare in this country.”
