Economic Club of Tampa honors mayors at April 2 black tie event

Plans call for 5 Tampa mayors to be there

TAMPA -- The Economic Club of Tampa announces tickets are available for the first Mayoral Inaugural Ball to be held Thursday, April 2, from 6-10 p.m. at the David A. Straz Jr. Performing Arts Center, 1010 North Macinnes Place, Tampa, FL 33602.

This charitable event benefiting the Hillsborough Education Foundation is a celebration of what’s great about the City of Tampa, while at the same time honoring the mayor who will be sworn into office on April 1.

The Economic Club of Tampa during the evening will also honor former Mayors Dick Greco (1967-1974 and 1995-2003); Bob Martinez (1979-1986); Sandra Freedman (1986-1995); and Pam Iorio (2003-2011) for their leadership and vision.

“The Hillsborough Education Foundation plays a major role in developing the youth who will be the region’s leaders of tomorrow. We’re inviting everyone in our community to buy a ticket to take part in this special event on April 2 to honor the Mayor of Tampa -- a present-day leader who also has a major impact on our future,” said Robert Miles, Board Member and Co-Chair  for the Economic Club of Tampa’s Mayoral Inaugural Ball.

The Mayoral Inaugural Ball is a non-partisan, charity-oriented event. The proceeds from ticket sales will support the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program. Several levels of corporate and table sponsorship are available that include a reception with the mayor and reserved dinner tables.  Individual dinner tickets (limited number) and After Party tickets are available for purchase. Ticket prices are as follows:

Reserved Corporate Priority Seating ($2,500)
Corporate Priority Seating includes the following: Reserved table for 8 and Listing in Program.

Dinner and Dessert - Limited Number Available ($150)
This ticket option includes dinner, dessert, and dancing from 6 - 10 p.m.

After Party - Dessert and Dancing ($25)
This ticket option includes dessert and dancing from 8 - 10 p.m.

The formal black tie optional dinner will be served “on stage” at The Straz Center’s Carol Morsani Hall. There will also be a special $25 After Party ticket available to continue the evening with dessert, dancing and fireworks celebration.
