PHILADELPHIA - Feb. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Philadelphia-area author Tony Spallone has teamed with John Gibbons, owner of the Bike Line® store in Exton, Pennsylvania, to promote Murder at Breeze Canyon, Spallone’s five-star-rated murder mystery novel involving cycling and suspense in the surrounds of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Spallone provided Gibbons with a copy of Murder at Breeze Canyon, which depicts a red-silhouetted body and black road bicycle falling over a cliff, and asked him to read it. Of the book, Gibbons said, “I can honestly say Murder at Breeze Canyon keeps you glued to your saddle as you ride with Tony through the mountainous murders of Santa Fe. I’m happy to place it in my store. It’s a different way to sell a book, but it fits.”

Murder at Breeze Canyon is Spallone’s first book to be published. He and his wife Patti are avid cyclists, and have cycled countless miles of roadways in Arizona and the Northeast. Given the book’s story line and cover image, Spallone hopes customers at the Exton Bike Line store will make the connection. “I admit my marketing strategy is unique. But I love cycling and I love writing, so placing my book here seemed natural.”

In the opening chapters of the book that has been described as a “page-turner of suspense and intrigue,” three cyclists are killed within a span of weeks. Assistant District Attorney Hank Kincaid, an avid cyclist and long-time member of the Canyon Cyling Club, believes their deaths are more than coincidence. He eventually convinces recalcitrant and ill-tempered Detective “Deeg” DeGarzia to examine possible clues to confirm the deaths are not accidental. When prominent local artist Carlotta Smith is also killed, evidence points to the beautiful and licentious Heather Dorell and her friend Stacey Keenan—also members of the Cycling Club—as prime suspects. The two women, minted by the media as the new "Thelma and Louise," criss-cross New Mexico to evade capture. In their wake, new suspects, events, and motives emerge that keep the reader guessing till the end.

Spallone published Murder at Breeze Canyon in collaboration with Stephanie J. Beavers Communications (http://www.StephanieJBeavers.com). At 368 pages, the book lists for $14.99. The e-book version for Kindle lists for $5.99. The book is widely available from retailers, and signed copies are available directly from Spallone (http://www.TonySpallone.com).
