Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor Responds to Kinder’s Request for Raise

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Feb. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder is asking for a raise, more taxpayer money literally in his pocket, at a time when Missourians are being asked to tighten their belts. Kinder has an annual salary of about $86,000 for his part time job as Lieutenant Governor, which is nearly double the median household income in Missouri. Kinder claims the job has caused him "gradual impoverishment." What Missourian wouldn’t love a part-time job for $86,000? Kinder has lost touch with the average Missourian. He has also forgot that public service, according to our founding fathers, is a public duty and honor - not a means to become wealthy.

Dr. Brad Bradshaw, the Democratic candidate for the office, has begun pushing for a reduction in the size of the state legislature to eliminate waste and inefficiencies. Unlike Kinder, Dr. Bradshaw is in favor of smaller government and less government spending. Dr. Bradshaw wants to strengthen the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and better perform the duties specified for the position including advocating for seniors, better health care, and economic development.
