Follow on Google News | Bowlero Rolls Into Mar Vista This AprilBy: Bowlmor AMF Formerly AMF Mar Vista Lanes, the 54-year-old bowling center is currently undergoing a gut renovation and will reopen as Bowlero—an award-winning concept that puts a retro-modern spin on classic bowling fun. The transformed venue will feature 28 lanes of blacklight bowling, vintage-style custom furniture and an upgraded A/V system that includes a massive lane-side video wall and state-of-the- “This center has been a fixture in the Westside community for more than 50 years, and we are so excited that we are able to keep the tradition of bowling alive and elevate the experience for the residents of Mar Vista,” said Tom Shannon, CEO of Bowlmor AMF. A (Road) Trip Back in Time Bowlero Mar Vista’s design is inspired by a 1970s road trip along the California coast—injecting elements of sun, surf and skate culture into modern bowling, dining and family recreation. Custom wall graphics beckon bowlers and fun-seekers alike to “unwind” and “unleash” as they survey the scenes of skaters, roller girls, and California sunsets unfolding all around them. Vintage furnishings, including Perth armchairs and tufted lane-side loungers bring the theme to life. The trip back in time is further complemented by classic amusements like vintage pinball machines, billiard and foosball tables, a photo booth and old-school arcade favorites like Pac-Man, Frogger and Donkey Kong. Stylish accent lighting adorns two unique lounge spaces that provide the perfect setting for any type of group event or party, artfully produced by Bowlero’s team of professional event coordinators who specialize in planning one-of-a-kind occasions. Completing the unique design is a revamped bar area that will serve Bowlero’s sip-worthy selection of original cocktails, signature milkshakes (which come in “safe” and “spiked” varieties) and the all-new “Skateboard Shooter,” a Bowlero Mar Vista original that turns an ordinary skateboard into a shot-taking experience made to be enjoyed with friends. Get a Little Crazy Executive chef Edward Porter, winner of Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games, will create foodie insanity in Mar Vista when he unleashes his “Go Crazy” menu at the new Bowlero. The ridiculously inventive array of classic American eats, inspired by old-school Americana and delicious down-home cooking, features signature items made to be shared, like the challenge-worthy, spicy “Pterodactyl Wings” and the mega-sized “Behemoth Burger”—a 5-pound, 14-inch-round party burger. Bowlero Mar Vista, designed by Studio Lemonade, marks the fourth Bowlero location to open in the U.S. and the very first of its kind in California. A comprehensive entertainment experience, Bowlero is the perfect venue for family outings, birthday parties, date nights and private events.
