CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Feb. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new rugged 1X4 3-G SDI Video Splitter. The standalone unit supports one HD, SD, or 3-G SDI video input and distributes up to four outputs providing the ultimate in video routing flexibility. With AVI’s 3-G splitter, mission system designers can place sensor video where ever they need it.

Measuring just 6.2 x 4.3 x 1.7 inches and under 1.2 pounds, AVI’s splitter automatically synchronizes to all 259M, 292M, 274M, 296M, and 425M SMPTE video standards. Low latency buffering provides sub-frame latency on output channels.  The unit dynamically adjusts to different SDI input standards without the need to cycle power, making the unit ideal for distribution of switched or changing SDI video sources. All outputs are re-clocked on output for maximum output cable length.

The S050104 provides a convenient and flexible method for distributing SDI video on mission system platforms and provides simple plug-and-play operation. Both input and output signal lock is provided by two LEDs to indicate SDI video signal health.

“AVI’s new 1X4 rugged 3-G SDI splitter adds another mission system design capability to AVI’s growing product offering,” said Bruce Carriker, President and founder of AVI. “Our customers now have the flexibility to distribute SDI video to multiple devices with the confidence that this DO-160 tested device provides.”

AVI’s rugged S050104 3-G SDI video splitter accepts 9 – 36 volts DC power and operates from -30⁰C to +65⁰C. The unit is designed for use in airborne law enforcement, ground systems, marine law enforcement, and defense surveillance applications. Based on SMPTE SDI video standards, it can be used with any SDI video source or any SDI capable device.
