PHOENIX - Feb. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- The State of Black Arizona (SBAZ) through its publication initiative facilitates important conversations and programs that impact the lives of African Americans in Arizona.  SBAZ will unveil its much-anticipated fourth publication focused on arts and arts education.

SBAZ Vol. IV features; research, data and human-interest stories of African American artists, educators, administrators and activists across Arizona.  It also features a special tribute to the legendary African American artist, educator, author, lecturer and researcher, Dr. Jefferson Eugene Grigsby, Jr. (1918-2013).  While Dr. Grigsby is no longer with us, his contribution to the arts and art education lives on.

Who:        Business & community leaders, artists, educators, administrators and activists from throughout Arizona.

What:       Dedication mixer event with Mistress of Ceremonies, TV New anchor, Kim Covington featuring food, music and arts appreciation in celebration of the release of the  State of Black Arizona Vol. IV.  Note:  Hard copies of Vol. IV will be available to event attendees only.  The digital version is accessible after April 15, 2015.

When:      Saturday, March 14, 2015.  6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Where:    George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 415 E Grant Street, Phoenix.

The State of Black Arizona Vol. IV is supported by partnerships with Arizona State University, APS, Arizona Community Foundation, City of Phoenix Public Works, State Farm Insurance, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, Southwest Gas Corporation and Arizona Commission for the Arts.
