Organization instills confidence in young girls, awards college scholarships

DALLAS, TX (February 17, 2015) - PEARL Girls (www.Pearl-Girls.org), founded by Keisha Howard, is a self-esteem organization for girls that is on a mission to change these alarming statistics.  The organization, endorsed by mega-star Beyonce’s #Beygood movement, will host its annual Miss Inner-Beauty America Pageant in Plano, TX, June 27 and 28 2015.  The pageant's theme is: “It’s not about Glitz and Glamour, it’s all about Confidence and Character!”

Miss Inner-Beauty America is a unique pageant that turns beauty inside out by teaching participants the importance of celebrating their beauty within.  Girls (ages 4-18) participate in several "Confidence Camps" in the weeks preceding the pageant, at which they learn important life-skills such as public speaking, community service, etiquette, social skills, self-esteem enhancement and friendship building skills that combat bullying. Every participant is celebrated on stage during the pageant by receiving a beautiful crown, special sash, and sparkling trophy.  Participants are also extended the opportunity to win college scholarships.

Registration is currently open for the 2015 Miss Inner-Beauty America Pageant.  Girls (ages 4-18) are encouraged to register early, as spots will fill quickly.  Interested participants may register online: (www.MissInnerBeautyAmerica.com).

About PEARL Girls: Since 2006, PEARL Girls has hosted programs for girls that uplift, educate, and motivate, and to date, thousands of young ladies have been empowered.  The organization has awarded over $30,000 in college scholarships to well-deserving DFW young ladies for their commitment to community service and academics.

About the Founder: PEARL Girls was founded by Plano ISD School Counselor and Inspirational Author, Keisha Howard, also known as “Coach Keisha” (www.CoachKeisha.com).  Coach Keisha brings a lot of girl-power at every speaking engagement and appearance.  She is a passionate communicator and girl’s Confidence Coach, making a positive impact in the lives of girls, young women, and the people who care about them.

Keisha is the author of “The Inner-Beauty Secret,” a children’s book that teaches youth the importance of character traits that are found within.  A2015 Gold-Award recipient from the Mom’s Choice Awards, “The Inner-Beauty Secret” addresses topics such as trustworthiness, kindness, body image and respect.  Keisha was inspired to write “The Inner-Beauty Secret” to counteract negative body image messages while spreading the message of self-love and the importance of possessing positive character traits, which is also the mission of the Miss Inner-Beauty America Pageant.
