NEW YORK - Feb. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- New York, NY, February 10, 2015 – CareDox (www.caredox.com) is poised to change the way schools and childcare facilities communicate with parents about important health issues. According to the CDC, as of February 6, 2015, there have been 121 reported cases of the measles in the U.S. In 2014, a total of 644 cases were reported – the most on record since measles elimination was documented in the U.S. in 2000. Parents, schools, and caregivers nationwide are struggling to identify which students are at risk, which parents need to be notified, and how to educate the community about health safety.

The majority of the people who have contracted measles have not been vaccinated. CareDox is a platform that enables the automated and streamlined collection of information so that schools can pinpoint at-risk children and directly communicate with parents to provide educational information and raise the rate of vaccination.

“Schools have been placed at the forefront of this frightening battle, but have not been given the tools to properly execute a prevention strategy,” said CareDox founder and CEO, Hesky Kutscher. “That is where CareDox comes in. CareDox’s complete suite of products will increase student safety, reduce the clerical workload on nurses, and improve efficiency in monitoring student health and communicating with parents.”

CareDox’s care coordination platform provides families anywhere, anytime access to the their personal health accounts while giving schools reporting tools and direct automatic downloads of immunization data from state registries. The network is completely HIPAA and FERPA compliant, with all information backed up securely. State Immunization Registry integrations remove the need for parents and pediatricians to provide key vaccination requirements manually and all records are stored in HL7 standard formats to ensure portability.

“For the first time, we have a tool that eliminates many of the tedious tasks of data entry, reduces errors, and enables us to educate parents in a scalable way- whether it’s about measles, food allergies, mental health issues, or other factors that affect our students’ well-being,” said Christine Conte, Vail School District. “This frees us up to spend more time caring for the students and ensures a healthier, safer environment for our whole community.”

The founders of CareDox created the platform to increase overall health safety in communities nationwide. By partnering with states and schools to educate families about the importance of vaccinations and creating an easy-to-manage platform for data gathering and communication, issues such as the outbreak of measles can be quickly assessed and a smart approach to dealing with them developed.
