PORTLAND, Ore. - Feb. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- On Sunday, February 22nd, Portland-based women’s fashion designer Michelle DeCourcy's first Oscar Gown will be worn by Cheryl Strayed, the #1 New York Times best selling author whose memoir was adapted to the recently released movie “Wild”, starring Reese Witherspoon, whom Strayed will be accompanying down the red carpet at this year's 87th Academy Awards.

Stylist Scarlet Chamberlin brought DeCourcy and Strayed together to create a unique one of a kind gown, designed and constructed in DeCourcy’s Old Town studio.

DeCourcy is keeping details of the gown under tight wraps before the Red Carpet reveal on Sunday February 22nd. DeCourcy did say “the gown is timeless, sexy and elegant with a modern take on old Hollywood glamour. The color is pure magic on her!”

When DeCourcy, Chamberlin, and Strayed initially met at DeCourcy’s studio Michelle presented Cheryl with six sketches. She immediately chose the one Michelle sketched first and loved most. When asked “Why DeCourcy?” ChambKaerlin replied, “Michelle is the best choice for a red carpet gown in Portland. She understands the complexity of women, how they want to feel beautiful and edgy and how a gown should fit.”
