Northlake Mall in Atlanta Joins the Enchanted Closet in Enchanting Lives

ATLANTA - Feb. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- The Enchanted Closet is pleased to announce that Northlake Mall is joining the Enchanted Closet in enchanting lives for the 13th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway season. In addition to the mall hosting the first Enchanting Lives Prom Dress Drive event of the year and serving as a donation drop off location, it will also be the location of the 13th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway and Enchanting Lives Prom Prep 101 and Vendor Fair in March.

Each year, the organization needs community-wide support to outfit 500 girls for prom. The mall provides a perfect space to create the boutique-style setting necessary for personal shoppers-volunteers to assist girls with finding their dreams dresses and accessories. The nonprofit has partnered with Northlake Mall in an effort to assist more girls who are in need and to reach more people who are interested in helping to make sure that no girl misses out on this rite of passage.

The following items needed for donation include:
New or gently used formal dresses that are clean, in good condition and teen appropriate in all sizes-especially sizes 0-6 and size 12 and above
Prom accessories such as jewelry, handbags, wraps and shoes
Gift certificates to restaurants, florists, limos, and hair and nail salons
Toiletry and goodie bag items-bath gels, lotions, hair and skin care products

About the Enchanted Closet

Founded in 2003, the Enchanted Closet is a 100% volunteer run nonprofit service organization that benefits the girls of metropolitan Atlanta and other cities as far as Macon and Savannah, Georgia. With the philosophy that no girl should miss out on the most “enchanting” moments in her life because of her family’s economic hardship, the Enchanted Closet began as a small community service project that collaborated with Macy’s department store to provide donated prom dresses to high school girls who could not afford to pay retail prices. This community partnership resulted in the establishment of the first Prom Dress Giveaway Program in the South and the organization blossomed;  providing dresses year-round for homecoming dances, JROTC balls, cotillions, and even milestone celebrations for mothers in residential treatment for substance abuse and victims of domestic violence.

The organization has outfitted nearly 6000 girls with formal dresses for prom and other special occasions. An average of 500 girls living in 14 plus metropolitan Atlanta counties are outfitted each year and families have saved over $1,000,000.
