Sick Building Syndrome Discussed in New Online Video

PHOENIX - Feb. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of their latest educational video.  Their newest production discusses sick building syndrome, also referred to as SBS.

As defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the term sick building syndrome is used to describe situations in which building occupants experience acute health and comfort effects that appear to be linked to time spent in a building, but no specific illness or cause can be identified. The complaints may be localized in a particular room or zone, or may be widespread throughout the building.

“There are many potential causes of SBS that may include everything from inadequate ventilation to chemical and biological contaminants,” said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network.  “Any one of these may act alone or in combination and may supplement other complaints associated with such things as temperature, humidity or lighting within a building. We hope this new video helps to shed some light on SBS and things that building occupants can be on the lookout for in their office, school or home.”
