Libertarians change venue but keep commitments

Manhattan libertarians relocate monthly meeting and send legal defense check to political nemesis

NEW YORK - Feb. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- On Tuesday night, the Manhattan Libertarian Party held its first monthly meeting at its new location, Big Daddy's Restaurant in Gramercy Park, after many happy years meeting at Ukranian East Village Restaurant.  Secretary/Treasurer Mark Axinn reported that he had mailed a letter and check for the four cents collected for State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's legal defense.

"I am delighted to inform you that at our Convention last month a separate donation was established for the Shelly Silver Legal Defense Fund," Axinn wrote.  "Unfortunately, the total donations were only four ($.04) cents, which no doubt is significantly less than what you usually take from New York taxpayers."

Axinn concluded, "Nevertheless, we want to make certain that you know Libertarians honor their commitments. Therefore we are delighted to enclose our check no. 1001 to your order in the aggregate total of four ($.04) cents."

The next meeting of the Manhattan Libertarians is scheduled for 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 10, at Big Daddy's Gramercy Park, located at 239 Park Avenue South.  No further fundraising for indicted Democratic Party leaders is planned.
