Governor Hogan Appoints Carol Beatty as Secretary for the Maryland Department of Disabilities

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Feb. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- On behalf of thousands of children and adults with developmental disabilities, The Arc Maryland congratulates Governor Hogan on his appointment of Carol Beatty as Secretary for the Maryland Department of Disabilities. With over 20 years of leadership at The Arc of Howard County, Ms. Beatty has served as its Executive Director, a  non-profit organization that serves more than 750 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, providing advocacy and support services.

For more than two decades, Ms. Beatty has been committed to achieving full community life for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  “Carol’s vision and wisdom will serve the people of Maryland well,” expresses Richard Dean, President of The Arc Maryland. “Her departure will be a great loss for The Arc of Howard County and Maryland Chapters of The Arc; however Governor Hogan and citizens with disabilities will be the ultimate beneficiaries.
