Sword Radio Uk: The Cutting Edge Of Music Launches

WICKFORD, U.K. - Feb. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Sword Radio UK was successfully launched on January 9th 2015

Both Martin Shaw and Kevin J >ann first came up with the idea of Sword Radio UK outside the Crooked Billet pub during the Danfest festival as they didn't have very much to do and both of us started discussing how we could make radio better and both of them at that point had successful radio formats. Martin Shaw was getting over a 100 listeners a week with his Martin Shaw Dance and UK Chart based Chartbusters shows whilst Kevin J. Mann had started to syndicate a successful UK Chart, Japanese Pop and New Artists format called The Spread which spawned an article in Love Music Magazine and at that point was Nominated for The Love Music Awards Best DJ category of which he later won in 2014!

Kevin J. Mann was thinking of Japan and samurai when he named the Station Sword Radio UK and thought of the line "The Cutting Edge Of Music" first , and had just started practicing Karate in the local area which has been an influence, Both of them have a passion for music and they wanted to give new artists from the UK and in Kevin J. Mann's case new music from the rest of the world especially new music from Japan

They also wanted to provide something different to our listeners that they wouldn't get anywhere else with a few successful shows that they handpicked especially for Sword Radio UK - Martin Shaw & Kevin J. Mann were also aware that towns around Wickford already have their own radio station but not much in regards to radio in the Wickford area. So they thought that we would re-dress the balance and give back something to the town and community they love so much.

During their time of setting up Sword Radio UK and working on The Spread Kevin J. Mann met Kimberly Hunt-Dickson who is the head of Tishki Productions over in California and started talking about both of their respective radio broadcasting backgrounds and histories and somewhere along the way the business relationship developed to the point where eventually Kimberly became the Sword Radio UK manager for the United States bringing with her a wealth of talent and experience of people in the radio and music industries and a whole lot of ambition to boot.

Later a forth member another presenter in the form of Keith Essex also joined the management team and developed his brand of Mellow Music on Mondays and was hugely influential in the development of the station sound.

Sword Radio UK are fully legal and licensed by PRS and PPL but broadcasting from Kevin J. Mann's flat in Wickford area (like most young internet radio stations) however the initial plan for Sword Radio UK is to soon start covering local events and host special music nights and focus on promoting the best new musical talent especially from the local area. Sword Radio UK are hoping that a local business in the Wickford or surrounding areas would give Sword Radio UK a home so we can set up a permanent base with a proper full radio studio as well so the community of Wickford have a radio station they can be proud of.

Sword Radio UK would also love to expand and start a record label, a live Japan bands event (If possible) and a live music festival under the Sword brand in Wickford so we can help local artists and musicians from the local area and give them a bigger audience and are trying to get enough backing by the local community.

Sword Radio UK also wants to help the local community, support charities and broadcast live music events in the local area and community and the worldwide internet community as well as the upcoming months go by.
