CARROLLTON, Ga. - Feb. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- New Kickstarter campaign launches digital and graphic novel campaign featuring veteran comic writers, running through March 11th.

Writer Patrick Gerard and artist Eryck Webb, creators of the smash success Ungrounded comic book on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter are returning to fund a new collection of stories, this time with additional writing by multiple award winning comic industry legend Brian Augustyn (The Flash, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight) and subversive cult favorite Tom Peyer (Batman ’66, Stephen Colbert’s Tek Jansen). Comic book readers may recognize both writers as frequent collaborators of top names in the American comic industry like Grant Morrison and Mark Waid. Augustyn and Peyer will be spinning their magic here in developing the original characters and concepts from prior Ungrounded stories by Gerard and Webb.

Augustyn was editor and later co-writer to Mark Waid on a lengthy, definitive run on The Flash in the 1990s. Peyer, meanwhile, compares the existing Ungrounded material by Gerard and Webb as being tonally “like [Grant] Morrison and [Jack] Kirby before.” Peyer was an assistant editor on Morrison’s seminal Doom patrol run from DC Comics in the 1990s.

Ungrounded tells the story of a physicist granted super-powers by the Egyptian deity Thoth, a flying polar bear, and their surreal compatriots. The Kickstarter also features digital and physical copies of prior Ungrounded stories to get new readers up to speed. The campaign runs through March 11th.
