National Testing Network Launches New Public Safety Applicant Testing Center in Ohio

CINCINNATI - Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- National Testing Network (NTN), the leader in test administration services for public safety departments, announces the opening of a new testing location in Cincinnati, Ohio, in partnership with Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, located at the Advanced Technology and Learning Center, 3520 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45233.

This new testing location will deliver employment tests to job applicants pursuing a career in the positions of firefighter, law enforcement officer, corrections officer and emergency communications operator.  The Cincinnati test site marks the 63rd test center for NTN, with test centers currently operating throughout 21 states.  The Cincinnati test center will increase NTN testing in the state of Ohio, and joins other NTN test sites already operating across the state, located in: Columbus, Piqua, Dayton, Maumee and Plain City.

NTN’s testing service has proven to be more convenient for local job seekers, and allows public safety departments to greatly reduce their applicant screening costs.  NTN allows candidates to have access to multiple times and dates to take their placement exams for public safety job openings.  By breaking down the testing barriers, and enabling candidates to test in a central location at a convenient time for them, NTN makes the testing process efficient for both the candidate and the department.

The new testing location in Cincinnati will offer entry-level testing for local city, county and state agencies looking to enhance their application process through a centralized, outsourced, testing location.

“The benefits of NTN go far beyond the cost savings for the departments we support,” said National Testing Network President, Carl Swander, Ph.D. “By offering continuous testing, NTN has improved candidate satisfaction in the testing process, while delivering increased diversity and higher quality candidates to departments.”

NTN is owned and operated by Ergometrics & Applied Personnel Research, Inc., an organization with 33 years of expertise in testing public service professions, specializing in video-simulated testing designed to expose applicants to real experiences they would encounter on the job.

NTN’s tests are specifically designed to identify applicants with the necessary decision making skills and critical thinking aptitude to perform well in a career in public safety.  NTN offers departments rapid applicant score reports, making test scores available through a password protected, secure, on-line portal.  This provides public safety departments the necessary test score data to quickly make sound hiring decisions.

“This is the first location in the Cincinnati area to offer testing services provided by the National Testing Network,” said Program Chair, William Mehbod, with Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.  “The addition of this service will provide local public safety agencies with a valuable resource to access qualified applicants.”
