By: WiMAX Forum With over 400 participants already registered to attend, WiMAX Aviation 2015 will provide an exclusive opportunity for the global aviation community to network, exchange ideas, and share key lessons regarding the advancement of best-in-class aviation networks. Discussions will be centered upon best practices for the deployment of networks based on the AeroMACS standard, as well as network and security considerations, and certification for AeroMACS equipment and devices. Dr. Nikos Fistas, Senior COM Expert of EUROCONTROL, said, “AeroMACS is the first component of the future aeronautical communication infrastructure and is building a new paradigm for aviation communications. The aviation community has worked together with the WiMAX Forum to create a global standard in ICAO. The business case research will feature several in-field deployments of the AeroMACS solution leveraging the Network Reference Model in a variety of international airports. Published by leading analyst firm, Senza Fili Consulting, the new white paper entitled, “AeroMACS: A Common Platform for Air Traffic Management Applications,” examines the latest AeroMACS applications and how they benefit three key stakeholder groups: airlines, airports and air traffic agencies.
