MESA, Ariz. - Feb. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- MESA (AZ)—Brighton Publishing LLC proudly announces the eBook release of “The Old Man and the Watch:Searching for the Long Road Home,” by novelist Jo Jewell. The Old Man and the Watch is now available in popular eBook formats from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other leading retailers nationwide. The print version is currently slated for release in late summer, and will be available through Ingram Content Group, the world’s largest wholesale book distributor, in addition to availability through the Xerox Espresso Book Machine Network.

Synopsis: Kerri has suffered through years of survivor’s guilt after surviving the same car crash that would lay claim to her childhood friend,—living had long since been replaced by merely being.

But she’s about to receive a phone call that will forever alter her life—a wrong number—a short conversation that will become the catalyst for change.

She’s amused by the elderly man on the other end of the line, and soon a friendship forms. Mr. Morgan Fairchild, now in his eighties, relates the days of his youth to his newly found friend.

Morgan tells her the story of a tragic farming accident that had taken the life of his dear brother, Seth. She learns that Seth hadn’t only left his brother with some cherished family memories, he’d also left Morgan with an incredible gift—his prized pocket watch.

But this watch is no ordinary timepiece...

Then, one day Kerri is bequeathed a simple pocket watch—an indiscriminate timepiece with noticeable wear and age to it, along with a simple note that reads, “It’s time to start living again.”

But, will Kerri ever be able to face down her fears?

“Author Jo Jewell walks the delicate line between the inexplicable and those places in our hearts that hold out to experience a bit of life’s unexplained mystery,” said Kathie McGuire, director of Brighton Publishing LLC. “The Old Man and the Watch proves that great stories are built from real life experiences, and author Jo Jewell crafts a true gem.”

Born in the flatlands of Indiana, author Jo Jewell would experience her own form of hardship—the death of her son. Eventually, Ms. Jewell would leave Indiana and find herself settling into her true home—near the foot of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains. Ms. Jewell has authored numerous short stories of inspiration and a series of articles that led to testimony before the Maryland State Senate and the creation of a bill: Maryland Task Force for Abused, Abandoned, and Neglected Children.
