WASHINGTON - Feb. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The National Association of Specialty Health Organizations (NASHO) today announced it is presently accepting nominations for its sixth annual Most Influential in Specialty Health Award. The award recognizes leaders in specialty health who have played a major role in advancing the industry’s mission to improve the value, access and availability of high-quality specialty health services. Previous honorees include Rob Lynch, President and CEO of VSP GlobalSM; Cherrill Farnsworth, President & CEO of HealthHelp®; and last year’s recipient, Tabatha Erck, CEO of Chiropractic Care of Minnesota.

Nominees should be executives from specialty health plans or provider networks that facilitate and support the delivery of specialty health services including: dental, vision, hearing, pharmacy benefit management, behavioral health, chiropractic, complementary care, physical therapy, radiology management and other ancillary services. The award recognizes individuals whose drive, passion and efforts have benefitted not only their professional and company interests, but also the specialty health industry as a whole.

According to NASHO Executive Director Julian Roberts, “Changes in the delivery of healthcare have consumers more attuned than ever before to their medical care, wellness and benefits. More and more recognize how significantly specialty healthcare services contribute to their overall well-being. Professionals in our industry are driven by this value proposition and work tirelessly to broaden access to quality specialty care. NASHO is leading the effort to formally recognize these individuals for their invaluable contributions by annually identifying the Most Influential in Specialty Health.”

The nomination period is open now through February 27th on the NASHO website at www.nasho.org. Nominees may include any leader who has had an impact on specialty health on the basis of visibility, contribution, influence, and reputation as judged by an independent panel of purchasers of specialty health, including:  employers, health plan executives, third party administrators and brokers. The award winner will be honored at the Chairmen’s Dinner on May 4th, during the NASHO / NAVCP 2015 Specialty Health Summit (www.specialtyhealthsummit.org) in Las Vegas.
