CHICAGO - Feb. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- Alderman William D. (Will) Burns has notched 11 significant endorsements with just two weeks left until the February 24 municipal election.  Among those announcing their support of the Alderman this week were the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 881 (UFCW (http://www.local881ufcw.org)), SEIU Local 1 (http://www.seiu1.org), Laborers District Council of Chicago (http://www.ldclmcc.org), The Chicago Gazette and The Chicago Tribune.  “Burns has gained a lot of respect as an effective coalition-builder,” said the Tribune in their endorsement.

Of the endorsements Burns said, “We continue to be humbled by the support our campaign is receiving.  It is clear validation that we are on track with the work we are doing on behalf of residents in the Fourth Ward.  I encourage residents to exercise their right to vote early and avoid the lines on Election Day.”

Previous endorsements secured during the campaign include the Chicago Sun Times, Teamsters Joint Council 25, SEIU Local 73, the Chicago Federation of Labor (CFL), Independent Voters of Illinois - Independent Precinct Organization (IVI-IPO), Democrats for Education Reform (DFER), State Senator Kwame Raoul, State Representative Barbara Flynn Currie, State Representative Christian Mitchell and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
