SOMERVILLE, Mass. - Feb. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Ana Benavides is an internationally acclaimed pianist and Steinway Artist with a keen interest in rare Spanish piano music of the 19th century.  Born in Malaga, Ana Benavides studied at the Malaga, Granada, Madrid, and Vienna conservatories.  She received a degree in Piano Perfomance from the Royal College of Music of London, a masters in Spanish Music from the Marshall Academy in Barcelona, and a doctorate in Humanities and Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado from the University Carlos III in Madrid.

Dr. Benavides has performed recitals in Europe, Australia, South America, and North America, and she has been a regular visitor to international festivals both as soloist and chamber musician.  She has received numerous national and international awards for piano performance, recorded a number of CD’s, and written a variety of articles and books about the piano and Spanish music.  More information about Ana Benavides and her work may be found at www.anabenavides.com.
