Follow on Google News | 5,000+ Jobs Available at Military Hiring Fair & Career Coaching Hosted by AFS and DBU2nd annual Military Hiring Fair and Career Coaching will be held February 10-11, 2015, with over 5,000+ jobs at Dallas Baptist University hosted by AFS. 2014 Hiring Fair yielded 18% job placement, more than double the national average.
By: America's Future Series As thousands of active duty military return to civilian life, it is vitally important that the skills, abilities, experience and leadership these men and women have in great abundance be utilized to the fullest extent possible. Not only are these Americans deserving of our support, they are qualified, capable and committed. American companies need their ethics, character, drive and dedication to keep them competitive globally. No other natural resource we are blessed with can do as much good for our nation. August 2014 was the first Military Hiring Fair and first partnership between AFS and DBU. Results were phenomenal, with double the national placement of 18%+. Candidates were coached and prepared for the interviews and real jobs were offered. This Hiring Fair is anticipated to be even better as another “Coaching Day” has been added to even better prepare the candidates. Coaching sessions will be led by JPMorgan Chase and Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) and 1:1 coaching will be available from Allies In Service and Dallas HR. The employers have commented that this Hiring Fair has not been a waste of time for them. The agenda is as follows: Day 1 - Feb 10, 2015 2 Career Coaching Workshops, 1:00- 4:30 pm & 4:30-8pm Job seekers who attend one of the Career Coaching Workshop sessions led by JPMorgan Chase, DallasHR and Hire Heroes USA will receive special access to employers on day 2 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. All employers value our military and their spouses and are actively seeking qualified candidates. "Veterans, their spouses and military personnel about to leave the service are all invited to attend our Military Hiring Fair on February 10th and 11th at DBU's main campus on Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas. On the 11th, we have over 50 employers with over 5,000 jobs. Hiring managers will be on hand to have mini interviews with qualified candidates. The coaching sessions on the 10th will help focus candidates on the best jobs for them, help them tailor their resumes and even have a mock interview so they are a prepared as possible.
