'Fastest Builder in The West' Looks Forward to a High Speed Summer

NANTWICH, U.K. - Feb. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- SOUTH CHESHIRE businessman and self-confessed motor-racing enthusiast Jim Hadfield has been dubbed the ‘fastest builder in the West’ after enrolling for the gruelling national seven-race competition known as The Fun Cup.

Jim, who is managing director of Woore - based builders A.J. Field Developments Ltd was given the nickname by friends when they revealed he would be sharing the 120 miles per hour driving of a powerful VW/Audi racing car in a seven month long celebration of speed.

The building expert who has been involved in the construction or renovation of some of the county’s swishest properties has decided to indulge his passion for motor racing with a high speed summer when he will take part in races at some of the country’s best known race tracks including Oulton Park, Silverstone and Donington Park.

“I’ve been a motor racing enthusiast all my life so this is a dream come true for me,” said Jim during a break from test drives around Oulton Park. “If things go well I could be the fastest builder on the track. Who knows!

“I’ve teamed up with two good friends from Newmarket, Mark Holme and Nick Nunn who will be sharing the car with me. In fact Mark’s company, Viking Self Storage, is sponsoring our Fun Cup team for which I am very grateful.

“Like me, Mark and Nick are entrepreneurs with motor racing in their blood. Without them I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this long-held ambition. It really is a dream come true. I just can’t wait to get behind the wheel,” added the 43 years old father of two.

“Happily the racing won’t interfere with my work schedule because all the races are weekend events and I’ll be training in my spare time.”

Jim’s wife Ailis is equally delighted with her husband’s high speed adventure. She said:”It’s a great opportunity for him – and our children Euan, 9 and seven years old Cara are looking forward to cheering their daddy on!
