Royal Date For Aruba Celebrations

Celebrations take to the seas in Aruba in May, as the island announces royal visitors to join its commemoration of a landmark anniversary.

Feb. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Sail Aruba 2015, running from May 1 to 3, will be bigger than ever this year as part of the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands – of which Aruba is part. And the event gains added significance with the confirmed visit at the same time by King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima.

Sail Aruba events will be based at the harbour in capital Oranjestad and will include visits by tall ships, marine and coastguard vessels. Sailing events, a seafood festival, fireworks extravaganza and a family day hosted by the resident Dutch Marine Corps are also planned.
