Central Carolina Hospital Honors Governing Board Members for Years of Service

SANFORD, N.C. - Feb. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Central Carolina Hospital pays tribute to three Governing Board members who dedicated their time to the hospital for five years (2009-2014).Paul Horton, Dr. Mitchell Reese and Dr. John Mangumreceived plaques in recognition of their years of service.

The Governing Board is responsible for the hospital’s care quality and environment, medical staff credentialing, and patient safety and satisfaction. It is comprised of local community and business leaders, as well as physicians who are part of the medical staff at Central Carolina Hospital.

“We appreciate the commitment these men have shown over the last five years as key members of our Governing Board,” said CEO David Loving. “While we are sad to see them go, we look forward to welcoming new members in 2015, and to continue providing our patients with the highest quality care.”

Central Carolina Hospital is pleased to welcome five new members to its 2015 Governing Board:

-Cleo Blue owns and operates Blues Associates, LLC Insurance Agency in Sanford.  He is active in many local groups such as Kiwanis of Lee County, Sanford Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Sanford Chamber of Commerce, Sanford/Lee County Boys and Girls Club, and Lee County Partnership for Children.

-Dr. Paul Heimbecker has served as a member of the medical staff at Central Carolina Hospital since 1994. He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Heimbecker received his medical degree from St. Louis School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

-Bob Joyce is president of the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as president of the Jonesboro Rotary and is on the board of both Downtown Sanford, Inc. and the Sanford Housing Authority.

-Dr. Steven Jurisich is a board certified general surgeon. He completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University affiliated hospitals in 1993. Dr. Jurisich earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University at New Orleans. He received two bachelor’s degrees in biology and cardiopulmonary science from LSU at New Orleans and Louisiana State School of LA Health Professionals.

-Bill Murphy owns and operates Rodeco metal finishing supplies and equipment, located in Sanford. He started in the metal finishing industry in job shop operations and the testing lab in 1977.
