BOISE, Idaho - Feb. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Most Americans can appreciate the sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform deployed in service to our country, but often forgotten are the families they leave behind. In light of the many challenges these families face, Cathy Cardenas, owner of Cathy Cardenas PR  is hosting her special Military Wives Makeover day to pamper and honor 30 of these military wives whose husbands are wounded, deployed, returning and also women who serve and female Vets.

This event is made possible by generous corporate and private donations, Cardenas will treat these 30 women to a day of beauty treatments and shopping before a dinner in their honor.

The day will begin with shopping for new outfits at Ross Dress for Less, followed by full beauty makeovers from Oliver Finley where they will also enjoy a catered lunch from Port of Subs and a professional photo shoot by
Fawn Hollow Photography
and bused throughout the day on an amazing tour bus generously donated each year by Sun Valley Express.

The day’s culminating event will be a dinner in these women’s honor at Louie's Italian in Meridian, where they will be able to show off their new look and be professionally photographed. These photos will be sent to their husbands overseas. During dinner, they will also be entertained by motivational messages from guest speakers and serenaded by a local musician. At the evening’s conclusion, the women will receive gift bags from Cathy Cardenas PR,local businesses, and additional photo shoot for the group.

Cathy Cardenas, a successful entrepreneur and single mother spends a portion of her companies’ earnings on philanthropic activities.

“My heart truly goes out to these women who are making a sacrifice as great as their husbands who are fighting overseas,” Cardenas said. “I wanted to find a way to give back to them, especially with Valentine’s Day approaching. I hope that this event raises awareness of the ultimate sacrifice that these women make each day.”

"Our primary focus is making women in the military feel special and important for a day. This event was originally created for women whose husbands were wounded or deployed during Valentine’s Day but, over the years has increased to include, Veteran women, women currently serving and mothers who have a son serving.  This event not only makes these women feel special but it is fully changing lives and has even saved a few lives" says Cardenas.
