LAS VEGAS - Feb. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) recently launched Backyard Card, a local affiliate program where businesses receive member benefits for employees that include discounted and fixed lift ticket and rental pricing. Since the program’s launch in December 2014, 15 companies in Las Vegas have become affiliate partners, including Zappos, Allegiant Air and Hakkasan Group.

“We have been working strategically to support our community and develop stronger partnerships with local companies,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR president and general manager. “Our affiliate program enables local employers to extend a benefit to their employees that promotes leading an active lifestyle and appreciating the outdoor recreation opportunities in our backyard.”

Employees of companies registered in the program can redeem a Backyard Card by presenting guest services the valid agreed upon proof of employment. For more information about the affiliate program or to participate, please email info@lvssr.com.

During the 2013/14 season, LVSSR launched another “perk” program, complimentary coaching where guests can work alongside a ski school pro at no charge. “We believe the ski industry is too focused on ski school being the sole revenue center. Our industry has lost sight of its true mission: to create life long skiers and snowboarders,” said Stickelman, who also reports that the program has come to yield huge gains for LVSSR. “We created the complimentary coaching program to invite new skiers and snowboarders to try snow sports in a welcoming environment without the pressures of a larger investment in ski school at the beginning of their learning experience.”

Since the program’s launch, LVSSR has seen more than a 50 percent increase in private lesson sales, its per-visit yield is up 30 percent, its youth program enrollment is up seven times over 2011, and ski school is now LVSSR’s No. 3 revenue center, up from its No. 4 position. Stickelman notes that a majority of this year’s Ride Local cardholders and youth program registrations have participated in the resort’s complimentary coaching program.

Though 2014/15 is on track to be one of the worst snow years in the resort’s history, Stickelman is confident that the program’s success will continue.

“Our complimentary coaching program model is proving to be extremely sustainable. We are already exceeding last year’s numbers and our guests are leaving the resort with an extremely positive experience.”
