By: IJIS Institute The Segs4Vets award honors the volunteerism of Arlington County (Virginia) Police who have assisted the Segs4Vets program by teaching disabled veterans to safely operate Segways, ultimately enhancing their mobility. The Segs4Vets program awards Segways to men and women of the United States Military who have sustained severe injuries while serving our nation in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom that resulted in permanent disability and difficulty walking. The program was conceived and implemented with the assistance of General Ralph “Ed” Eberhart, United States Air Force (Retired), who presented the award to Chief Doug Scott of the Arlington County Police. “Segs4Vets’ End
