Stress Continues For Military Veterans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Feb. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- A recently released CareerCast.com 2015 survey has several military occupations at the top of its most stressful jobs list. Based on an 11-point matrix, enlisted military personnel rank 2nd and military generals rank 3rd. According to Joe Solsona, the Executive Director of the non-profit, National Association of Veterans and Families (NAVF), the stress on America’s 22 million wartime veterans and their families is often compounded when they try to access the medical and other benefits they’ve rightfully earned through their service.

“Our organization helps veterans and their families cut through the red tape that effectively denies them their rights. These veterans don’t get to choose the date they want to go to defend our country. When they return, to make them wait and suffer and work for what they’ve rightfully earned is a travesty. Sadly, these cases are not exceptions. Based on the thousands of calls for help we receive, far too many of our veterans and their families are in need because they can’t get timely access to their rightful benefits.”

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) claims process can be overwhelming, especially for aging veterans and their spouses. In order to file claims for benefits, veterans are required to navigate the 169-page 2010 Edition of Federal Benefits for Veterans Dependents & Survivors, published by the VA. This is just one example of the challenging hurdles veterans face when filing claims for benefits. “I was lost. I kept getting denied claims because of missing or incorrect information. I couldn’t read the jargon and I couldn’t understand how to fix the problem,” claims a retired Navy Captain. “I know I am not alone. NAVF helped my wife and me get the compensation for medical care that I worked for with 30 years in the Navy.”

Joe Solsona says once a veteran or family member contacts NAVF, he and his team are able to reduce the waiting time for veterans from months or years to weeks. “Our mission is to provide direct assistance regarding better living and health services to American Veterans and their surviving spouses. Our service costs nothing. I am proud to say that my team members have helped veterans and their families claim millions of dollars—and these families were entitled to every cent.”

NAVF will help qualified veterans and their families determine eligibility and locate and organize the seemingly endless paperwork needed to file claims with the VA. The NAVF Veterans Support Center boasts 98% claim approval. Since the service is free to veterans and their families, the Jacksonville, Florida based non-profit depends solely on donations and memberships. For $35.00 a year, anyone can join NAVF and make a life-changing difference for military veterans and their families.
