GlowGenics New Sleepy Time Baby

Feb. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- CALM BABY

The previous evening, the baby was up all night. Mom and Dad are walking zombies. Caffeine no longer has any effect.

It’s night night time again. Mom and are now praying baby will not fuss, and drift into a long, restful, peaceful sleep. Everyone in the house needs this!

Most do not realize how stressful a baby’s day is. Television, radio, crowds, noises, etc. Are all extremely stimulating to a baby, who has never had these experiences before. They have not adapted to these stimulants as adults have. It may take time for baby to allow himself/herself to relax afar a day filled with these experiences.

Babies (as all humans) are able to be both stimulated and relaxed through their five senses: vision, hearing, smell, touch and taste.

A bustling mall may over stimulate a baby’s vision, seeing fast moving people and so many new sights in so many stores. Their hearing is stimulated with music, loud people and a mixture of sounds. The smell of the food court, specialty shops, coffee, and cleaners create a myriad of stimulation. If baby plays on the playground, their touch receptors are stimulated by the many new textures, and if baby is consuming more than breast milk or formula or basic organic foods, they’re being stimulated yet again.

All this stimulation, to a baby (or child) is the equivalent of mom or dad drinking a case of Red Bull in Las Vegas at night. By the end of the day, a restful sleep is not happening.

Hoe then can we help baby drift blissfully into dream land, which will in turn, allow both mommy and daddy to have some quiet time and sleep well?

When it comes to the visual senses, allowing baby to be in a room, without a television or group of people, to simply be, will help. Soothing earth tone color on the wall help calm this aspect of baby’s brain.

Utilizing calm classical music or white noise can calm baby’s auditory senses. These ideas are intermediate steps before total silence. It is often more difficult to go from 100 mph to zero before slowing down gradually first.

Baby’s gustatory (taste) senses should not be over stimulated if they are on a diet of plain breast milk. It is best and proven to be best over the centuries. If baby is moving onto solids, by keeping sugar and processed foods down to zero, their systems will avoid toxicity.  The senses of touch are necessary to a point. As long as everyone and their neighbor are not handling baby, he/she should be fine in what they handle or touch.

Lastly, and one of the most important senses, which will help calm baby is smell. There are certain scents, which have been proven over time, to relax the human body. In my research, the two most powerful of these scents are lavender and vanilla. They are not designed to put a person right to sleep, but they have been shown to lower breathing and heart rate, which is directly related to secondary effects of stress. By inhaling these scents, science shows us that we calm down. Calming down, in conjunction with bedtime may lead to a restful sleep.

My wife and I searched for some time for the highest quality lavender and vanilla. We took our time developing the correct mixture of the two and how to ensure their safety and effectiveness. We then tested it on our family/friends.  It was an instant hit. Parents love it because it smells great and it relaxes their babies and kids enough to drift off to sleep. The kids love it because it smells great and they want to spray their room with it.

Hopefully these tips help you get some sleep. A happy, well-rested baby means a happy well-rested parent!
