EDINA, Minn. - Jan. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Dancing is a popular form of exercise, but you may not have known that the training and conditioning techniques of dancers are among the most intense and effective available for sculpting, toning, and even lengthening the body.

Studio Sydney @ Barre, now open in Edina, Minnesota, is inviting new members to experience this style of conditioning for themselves. The method is called Barre, and it involves using a series of choreographed, repititious motions to strengthen, tone, and stretch the body. Participants perform most of the moves while using the barre proper - a long, wooden bar that you may have seen in dancing studios - and relying on body weight to provide the resistance (light weights and toning balls do come into play occasionally during the sessions, which last 45-60 minutes.)

While a session at Studio Sydney @ Barre is likely to leave participants "feeling the burn," the exercises are quite low-impact. Very little stress is inflicted on the joints, which makes the method less harsh and damaging over time versus running or jogging. Routines can even be adjusted to suit pre-existing injuries or varying levels of fitness.

Anyone seeking a fun path to personal fitness that produces great results is welcome to try a session for free. Men and women are welcome, as are people of all experience and fitness levels.
