Follow on Google News | Southern California Artist Draws Dinosaur for National Draw a Dinosaur DaySubmission of Prettyprettyprincessaurus entered for countrywide holiday.
By: BilGaines.com Gaines has been drawing dinosaurs for the annual festival since 2014. This year’s entry into the national lexicon of dinosaur drawings is titled “Prettyprettyprincessaurus” “I enjoy drawing dinosaurs,” said Gaines. The feet are always the trickiest part, he went on to say, and followed up by noting that he has never been one to back down from a challenge. Gaines said he has been drawing dinosaurs unofficially since 1985, but never submitted an official drawing to any governing body or organization until he found out about National Draw a Dinosaur Day on social media. National Draw a Dinosaur Day occurs every January 30 in the United States and in some parts of Canada. The holiday is officially recognized as noted by the website drawadinosaurday.com, and unofficially by paleontologists and dinosaur enthusiasts everywhere. It is not known exactly when the annual celebration started, but scientists believe it was within the last decade. It is said to have started as a thought experiment that yielded a growing number of real-world results. Thanks in part to social media platforms like Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter, the celebration has expanded significantly every year, and forecasts indicate this trend will continue. End
