New River Auto Mall to Host Blood Drive

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Jan. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- On Feb. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., The Blood Alliance will be collecting blood donations at the New River Auto Mall. The organization’s bloodmobile, where donations are collected, will be parked at Hilton Head Hyundai, located within the Auto Mall at 51 Auto Mall Blvd. in Hardeeville. Donors will receive $5 off an oil change and 10% off any service.*

The Blood Alliance provides blood products to the local community across 30 hospitals and 10 counties in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. The organization was founded in 1942 as a non-profit community blood center and has been licensed by the FDA as well as accredited by the AABB, certifying their products as safe.

Quick facts:

    • The Blood Alliance is the only provider of blood to all Beaufort and Jasper County hospitals.

    • One pint of blood can save the lives of up to three people! It takes about an hour to donate.

    • Blood collected by The Blood Alliance is used to treat local patients in our community.

    • If donors gave two times per year, blood shortages could be prevented.

    • Of the roughly 40 percent of healthy Americans who can donate blood, less than 10 percent do.
