The Beat Presents: Bluegrass Brunch at Beat Brasserie

Jan. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- WHAT: On Saturday, February 7th, 2015 Beat Brasserie, located in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, kicks off the first morning of its new Bluegrass Brunch Series. Every Saturday from 10:00AM to 3:00PM the restaurant will be transported to the Appalachian region with the sounds of Ethan Robbins and Frank Drake while guests enjoy the culinary styling of Executive Chef Ignacio Lopez, handcrafted cocktails, amazing beers and American craft wines from the all on-tap wine list poured by The Beat’s expert bar team.

Performing on stage will be esteemed bluegrass and jazz musicians Ethan Robbins and Frank Drake. Robbins began studying classical violin at the age of four, and since has added bluegrass guitar and mandolin to his repertoire.  He began his experience at Oberlin College where he was a founding member of “The Outhouse Troubadours,” an Oberlin Bluegrass Phenomenon.  Drake plays “Americana,” which includes: jazz, western swing, roots country, bluegrass, a smattering of rock and pop, and some Irish and related varieties of traditional music.

Adults and children are all welcome to enjoy in the diverse sounds, eclectic ambiance and mouthwatering brunch dishes at The Beat. Dive into the Classic Eggs Benedict ($12-13.5), the Mexican Tofu Scramble with black beans, salsa, avocado and tortilla ($12.5) or the French Toast with whipped cream, apple and pear compote ($12). If you’re arriving a bit later and prefer lunch try the Tuna Salad on wheat toast ($12.5) or any of the Earth Bowls with your choice of protein, 5 whole grain pilaf, roasted and sautéed vegetables and soy sauce ($13.5-19).
