Course Description:

Electronic consent (eConsent) technologies may be the future of clinical research, making it easier for potential subjects to learn about a study and for researchers to ensure subjects are well-informed. IRBs welcome the many benefits these technologies can offer to human subject protection. In this webinar, we will review some of most common features of eConsent and examine how they may enhance subject protections. We’ll also provide some practical ideas on how an IRB might review these new technologies.

In this webinar, we will:

·         Define key individual features and capabilities of electronic consent

·         Discuss the ways each individual feature may improve subject protections

·         Explain methods by which an IRB might review eConsent technology
