IRBs welcome the many benefits these technologies can offer to human subject protection. In this webinar, we will review some of most common features of eConsent and examine how they may enhance subject protections. We’ll also provide some practical ideas on how an IRB might review these new technologies. In this webinar, we will: · Define key individual features and capabilities of electronic consent · Discuss the ways each individual feature may improve subject protections · Explain methods by which an IRB might review eConsent technology About Our Speakers: Adam Roth - Director of Operations, Schulman Associates IRB Adam Roth has over 17 years experience in the field of clinical research and human subject protection. His experience includes work at clinical research site as a study coordinator and director of clinical operations, CRO experience as a clinical trial manager, and IRB experience as a board member at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Has conducted or managed trials in all clinical phases and multiple-therapeutic areas. His current role is Director of Operations at Schulman Associates IRB and is responsible for managing board support operations, including consent development, safety reporting and study change management. Ashley Dixon - IRB Member, Schulman Associates IRB Ashley Dixon has been with Schulman since 2007 and an IRB member since 2009. During his time at Schulman he served as project lead to develop and implement Schulman’s Canadian Ethics Board. He also helped to lead the IRB’s initiative to move from paper-based review to a fully electronic review. He has also been involved in many organizational projects to streamline processes investigate and to implement ways to gain efficiencies using technology.
