Council on Aging Welcomes New CEO Sarah F. Gurtis

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Jan. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Council on Aging (COA) is pleased to welcome Sarah F. Gurtis as their new CEO this month.

"Sarah is the former Corporate Development Officer at Camp Boggy Creek,” said Marketing Director of COA Cathy Coates. “Her business background, social service background and local connections make her a great fit for CEO,” added Coates.

She is a Florida State University graduate and began her career with SunTrust Bank after graduation. She was Senior Vice President of Marketing for the State of Florida when she left to run the Daytona USA attraction at the Daytona International Speedway.  She is a longtime resident of New Smyrna Beach and has been on the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce Board, Halifax Area Advertising Authority Board, Heart of Florida United Way, Boy’s Town, Junior League and others.

COA was established under the Older Americans Act by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. COA is a “Lead Agency,” designated by the State of Florida as a service agency directly tasked with the health and welfare of senior citizens.
