Follow on Google News | Big Band Music To Fill the FifePut on your dancing shoes and make plans for an evening out in one of Illinois oldest theaters.
By: Fife Opera House Shoulders is a former band director who taught in Palestine and Robinson locally. The band is made up of several other music directors, professional, and amateur musicians. They play a variety of classic favorites from the Big Band Era that are guaranteed to bring listeners onto the dance floor. Dinner main entree choices are Parmesan Herbed Chicken Breast with seasoned rice or Smoked Pork Chop with sweet/sour sauce and seasoned rice. The meal will include a tossed salad with Mullens dressing. Sides are cauliflower broccoli au gratin and/or glazed carrots with fresh baked bread, choice of desserts, coffee or tea. Tickets are also available for the show only. They are $12 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. The theatre original operated until 1912 and following several years of restoration reopened in December of 2014 to a sold out audience. Proceeds go to support the Fife Opera House and other PPPS projects. End
