Love Being Local this Winter, Join Southern Ocean Chamber for February Business Building Events

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - Jan. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce is planning to show the love for local businesses with several mid winter events presented to help expand knowledge, contacts and customer base. Start with the regional chamber’s monthly membership meeting and lunch.  Whether you work for or own your own business, work with businesses as clients or plan to start or expand your business, our luncheon topic touches on resources available. Our keynote will be Shannon Murphy, Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager in Business & Professional Banking for M&T Bank presenting financial facts in the “Business Building Seminar” Shannon has appeared on Stockton’s M-4 Small Biz Show and has shared her knowledge of working with small businesses with numerous local organizations over the last decade. Shannon is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and currently resides with her family in Little Egg Harbor. Networking begins at 1130am, with lunch and program beginning noon at Holiday Inn Manahawkin on Tuesday February 10. Tap off the work week with Thursday, Feb 12 After Hours Happy Hour, at TGI Fridays Rt 72 Manahawkin.  This drop in event is free to all businesspeople, just bring card to enter. Free appetizers for snacking, chances to win $25 TGIF gift cards and Cash Bar are on the menu between 5-7pm. Saturday, Feb 28 Southern Ocean Chamber membershost a Pop Up style event at St Mary’s Parish Center in Manahawkin featuring an outdoor gaming garden, cinema style screenings of Landfall, demos and merchant marketplace from 10am to 2pm. The outdoor fun includes gaming trailers and a National Guard Call of Duty Virtual exhibit, winter warming seating areas, and disc golf lessons/demos.  Inside Home Depot will have children make and take projects, local businesses will feature winter deals & spring previews at the Marketplace, and Lighthouse International Film Society (http://www.lighthousefilmfestival.org/) and Jetty (http://www.jettylife.com/) will be screening their acclaimed film Landfall (http://landfallfilm.com/).  A coffee house style seating area will be available to enjoy gourmet food specialty sales benefiting the LBI Rotary Club (http://lbi.net/nonprof/Rotary.htm). There is no charge for the public to attend or take part in any of the Winter Warm Up activities.
