BOSTON - Jan. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Bob O’Hara, CPA, creator of ExitPlanning-Edu (http://www.exitplanning-edu.com/), an educational website for business owners and owner of O’Hara & Company, PC in Chelmsford, MA, recently joined the Watertown, MA-based Public Conversations Project's (http://www.publicconversations.org/) Board of Directors as their newly appointed Treasurer. He was officially inducted this past November 17, 2014.

Founded in 1989, the Public Conversations Project, a non-profit global communications leader, works locally, nationally, and globally to provide dialogue facilitation, training, consultation, and coaching covering a broad range of issues, including same-sex marriage, immigration, abortion, diversity, guns, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In addition, PCP has contributed to other peace-building efforts in several conflict-torn regions overseas. In situations where a breakdown in trust, relationships, and constructive communication is part of the problem, Public Conversations Project offers a solution, and helps reduce stereotyping and polarization while deepening trust and collaboration and strengthening communities.

Bob O’Hara, CPA, a premier Business Planning Advisor and National Speaker, joined the Public Conversations Project with the belief that people want to communicate and understand each other and recognizes the need to build better relationships and communication in communities, the United States and the World.

“The Public Conversations Project is delighted to welcome Bob O’Hara to our Board of Directors. Bob’s experience as a business owner and manager, as well as his exemplary service in the nonprofit sector, will be great assets to Public Conversations Project. Moreover, we applaud Bob's commitment to changing the tone of conversations around our most pressing issues, which is very much at the heart of Public Conversations Project's values,” said Kay Calvert, Board Chair of The Public Conversations Project. “As Board Chair, I congratulate Bob and look forward to the work we will do together.”

Prior to owning his own business, Bob O’Hara worked with the international accounting firm, KPMG and is actively involved in promoting civic engagement which generates increased constituent involvement in governing and open dialogue with Congressional Representatives.

A leader in his field and graduate of New York University and Bentley University, Bob O’Hara helps Business Owners build companies which at some point will successfully become independent of the owner’s daily management. Critical to this process is a consistent open dialogue with all those involved with the business and the owner.

Addressing the importance of his new role with the Public Conversations Project, Bob O’Hara noted, “In my experience, amongst companies, groups and associations, I have seen hesitation in communication and always encourage open dialogue. I believe that people want to communicate and understand each other, but many are reluctant to start or have conversations about subjects they know they may disagree on. PCP has the tools that people can use to engage in conversations that are intended to develop an understanding with people of differing beliefs, values or identity.” O’Hara added, “I am honored to be named to PCP’s Board of Directors.”
