Healthcare Veteran from Mission Hospital Joins Board of Trustees

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Jan. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- The Blood Connection has elected a new member to serve on its Board of Trustees. Jason VanDiver is Vice President of System Communications and Marketing at Mission Health System in Asheville, NC. With a background in marketing complex healthcare systems and services, and a focus on strengthening relationships with the community, VanDiver is expected to be a valuable asset to The Blood Connection.

Jason is highly qualified and brings essential skills that will support our mission to ensure an adequate, safe, and cost-effective blood supply is available for those in need.

Jason VanDiver joins the board with more than 18 years in the health care industry, building healthcare brands and driving successful strategies that leverage medical services. Prior to joining Mission Hospital, VanDiver was System Director of Marketing at Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY. He also managed operations at Deaconness Hospital in Evansville, IN.

“I am pleased to join The Blood Connection’s board of trustees, and I’m committed to advancing the organization’s mission,” said VanDiver.  “I will work with influential community leaders and groups to promote awareness of TBC’s presence in the western regions and identify opportunities to foster support and encourage blood donation.

In recent years, The Blood Connection has steadily grown to give more patients access to vital blood products.  The opening of a blood donation center in Hendersonville marked a significant milestone for The Blood Connection as it increased its ability to collect, process, test, and distribute blood components in western NC, northwestern SC and northeastern Georgia.

Founded in 1979, The Blood Connection is the largest independently managed, non-profit community blood center in the region.
