By: Fossil Gate Farms The honor was announced Jan. 21 during the annual American Quarter Horse Association (http://www.aqha.com/) Jess Walking Thru has earned an impressive race record despite suffering a potentially career-ending injury in her second career race at Ruidoso Downs in May 2014, when she suffered a deep gash after being pushed into a guard rail by another horse. Following her recovery, she placed first at the Dash for Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park (G1) and third in the $2 Million Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course (G1). Overall, she compiled a record of 8-3-0-2 while competing on four different tracks in Texas, New Mexico and California. Jess Walking Thru is owned by Fossil Gate Farms’ Gary and Linda Gordon and Ross Roark of Roanoke, Texas. She was bred by Lance Robinson and Max Anderson of Spanish Fork, Utah; trained by Mike Robbins; and ridden by Jose Alvarez. Sired by Walk Thru Fire, she is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Sass Me. Located in Argyle, Texas, Fossil Gate Farms is one of the premier breeders of show-quality Paints and Quarter Horses. Operated by quarter horse veterans Gary and Linda Gordon, Fossil Gate Farms has produced numerous world-class stallions, in addition to hosting buyers and breeders from around the world.
