Follow on Google News | Joppatowne Lions Club Celebrates 50 Years Of ServiceDistrict A Harford County Councilman Michael Perrone Joins Club
By: Joppatowne Lions Club Since the club’s chartering in 1965, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as Copenhaver Park, a J-plot in front of Joppatowne High School, building of a wheelchair ramp for a local citizen and much more. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone back into the Joppatowne Community as well as sight and hearing programs. According to Past President Rich Bennett,“We are proud of our club’s 50 years of service to the community. We have been here for a long time, and we still have more to do. The Lion club members would like to thank everyone who contributes. You are truly helping the Joppatowne Lions Club make a difference in our community.” President Keith Williams of the Joppatowne Lions Club and District Governor Doug DeWitt presented Lion Daniel Ziolkowski with a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Dan has provided 36 years of service as a Lion since being inducted in 1979. He has served in all Club Officer Positions and has provided countless hours of service through the years. His award was presented at the Club’s Charter Night Celebration. New member Michael Perrone was inducted during the Charter Night Dinner Meeting. Also recently inducted in November were returning member Hank Sebula and new member Shawn Duffy. The Joppatowne Lions Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:59 PM at Giovanni’s Restaurant. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
