CARROLLTON, Texas - Jan. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Operation Kindness – the original and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas – continues to report record-breaking numbers with 4,387 animal adoptions in 2014.

“We are thrilled to report yet another record-breaking year of animal adoptions! For the third consecutive year adoption numbers have continued to increase by more than 10 percent. We are so appreciative of the support we receive from the community who help make this possible,” said Operation Kindness CEO Jim Hanophy. “It is through our dedicated volunteers, community partnerships, and increased awareness through special events, corporate and community education programs — that we were able to achieve such success.”

Operation Kindness plans to increase adoptions in 2015 by introducing the new Foster Talent Agent Training program – a volunteer foster program designed to provide adoptable animals with a “human wingman” to find their perfect match.

Each time an animal is adopted, Operation Kindness is then able to save another animal’s life. Animals of all sizes, breeds, colors and ages are available for a small adoption fee – which includes vaccinations, worming, testing, microchipping, collar and ID tag. Adoption fees are $135 for cats/kittens and $175 for dogs/puppies. Adoption fees help cover the costs of caring for the animals at Operation Kindness, such as food, medicine, tests, spay/neuter surgery, other surgeries, medical procedures, rehabilitation and recovery.

Founded in 1976, Operation Kindness is the original and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. Its mission is to care for homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into responsible homes and to advocate humane values and behavior. Operation Kindness has saved nearly 80,000 animals since its inception. Operation Kindness cares for an average of 300 animals daily, with another 100-150 animals in foster homes. Operation Kindness assists nearly 4,500 dogs and cats each year.
