ATLANTA - Jan. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC) has appointed Vivian Rodriguez to the role of Director of Communications, effective January 12, 2015. Based at the Council’s Midtown Atlanta headquarters, Rodriguez is responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, publications, content development and social media. GMSDC, Georgia’s premier advocacy organization for small business development and supplier diversity, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2015 with the new tag “Realizing Tomorrow,” and plans to usher in a new wave of thinking and strategy for its corporate partners and more than 700 Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) firms in the New Year. The new marketing initiatives will serve to reach a broader audience-- and bring these services to even more MBE’s throughout the state of Georgia-- of which Rodriguez will lead all communications and media-related efforts across the organization.

A veteran strategist with many years of marketing, advertising, writing and freelance consulting under her belt, Rodriguez comes to the Council with a broad base of both B2B and B2C experience. She has managed customer programs, search engine optimization, digital content strategy and marketing for a number of brands throughout her career, most recently serving as a consultant to small business owners and organizations all over Georgia. An alumna of Georgia State University in Atlanta, Rodriguez is an active volunteer who strongly believes in supporting causes that support both the community, and the arts. She currently sits on the board of Creative Community Services, one of Georgia’s largest non-profits serving developmentally challenged adults and children in the community.

The President and CEO of the GMSDC, Stacey Key, is excited about the addition of such a versatile skillset to her team. “Vivian brings a fresh perspective to our efforts, and a skill set that will be vital to implementing what we want to do with our brand in the New Year,” says Key. “As we move the organization toward “Realizing Tomorrow,” we need a savvy digital communicator driving our messaging effort. Vivian has the skill set for the GMSDC of tomorrow!” Future media inquiries may be directed to Rodriguez at vivianr@gmsdc.org.
