CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Jan. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Today, test-based baby product review site BabyGearLab announced the award winners from their 2014 best bassinet review.  Headed by site founder, Dr. Juliet Spurrier, the team pitted eight top performing bassinets in side-by-side comparisons over a period of several months.  Each bassinet was rated individually on the following criteria: ease of set up, health and safety, ease of use, quality and portability.  The full review can be seen at BabyGearLab.com.

Award winners are as follows:

Editors’ Choice Award for best overall product went to the BabyBjorn Cradle.  “BabyBjorn went above and beyond national safety standards to help insure baby is sleeping in an environment that is as clean and free of harmful substances as possible,” notes Dr. Juliet Spurrier.  “That, combined with classic styling and ease of use, really allowed this bassinet to shine compared to the competitors.”

Earning the Best Value Award was the Arm’s Reach Mini Arc Co-Sleeper.  “At a manageable price-point, the Arm’s Reach also offered the versatility we knew many parents would be looking for,” says Dr. Spurrier.  “This is a sturdy bassinet that can be used bedside as a co-sleeper, or as a stand-alone bassinet, two different functions new parents will appreciate.”

The HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper earned Top Pick for use by a mother recovering from a C-Section.  “For a mother who needs or desires to spend more time recovering in bed, the HALO Swivel Sleeper is a wonderful companion,” states Dr. Spurrier. “We found the swiveling “nest” of the bassinet and the ability to easily lower the side rail and reach baby from bed added both comfort and convenience to those early days at home with baby.”

Additionally, BabyGearLab editors have published a complementary article entitled “How to Choose the Perfect Bassinet” designed to aid parents on their bassinet buying journey.  The buying advice guide also summarizes important safety issues and highlights key features to note when choosing a bassinet.

The team at BabyGearLab bases their findings on stringent, test-based results.  Each product is carefully selected as part of the study and compared in an apples-to-apples manner alongside the competitors.  The products are examined in both laboratory and real-world settings over months of daily use and abuse.  Their calculated analysis allows for detailed and unbiased information to be presented online to BabyGearLab readers.
