New Orleanians March to Selma for Civil Rights Anniversary Celebration

Come to the “March” – the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement’s “March” which lead to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965
 
NEW ORLEANS - Jan. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- NEW ORLEANS – From March 6-8, 2015, the city of New Orleans will be represented in fine fashion to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement. Those who wish to attend will travel to Selma, Alabama to partake in historic activities surrounding the “March” that led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Events will include the following:

·         Education Summit

·         Historical Site Visits

·         “Stomp Out to Vote” Show

·         Bridge Crossing Jubilee Parade

·         Turn Up Youth Summit & Battle of the Bands Youth Fun Night

·         Montgomery Gala-Concert (featuring Patti LaBelle)

·         Sunday Morning Services

·         Bridge Crossing Re-Enactment (Edmund Pettus Bridge)

Special travel packages are available for $240.00 per adult and $170.00 per student. Packages include transportation via Hotard bus, lodging & t-shirt). This is a lost cost alternative to vehicle or air travel to an important historical event honoring those who fought for civil rights at all costs.
