Papagayo Celebrates Traditional Mexican Holiday at all Four Locations!
By: Papagayo

Jan. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- WHAT: Around the world February 2nd marks the point between the winter solstice and spring equinox, and is regarded as a superstitious day in various cultures. In the United States the groundhog’s shadow predicts the arrival of spring, but in Mexico it is “Día de la Candelaria” (Day of the Candles), a celebration based on religious influences, pagan traditions and weather superstitions that celebrates spring’s arrival! Candles are blessed and lit to mark the end of the holiday season and families gather to eat tamales, a recipe that has been enjoyed for thousands of years!

On Monday, February 2, 2015 celebrate this tradition at any of Papagayo’s locations in South Boston, Downtown Boston, Charlestown, and Somerville, MA. All day long guests will enjoy a candlelit dinner and house-made tamales to rejoice the end of winter and the arrival of spring.

Even if the groundhog sees his shadow and there’s a long winter ahead, you’ll still have something to celebrate at Papagayo!

WHEN: Monday, February 2, 2015.
