Follow on Google News | Uniting a Community Through FashionFashion Riot Dallas partners with Promise House to inspire young adults to give back.
“Something powerful happens when we are free to create something," says Katy, "Every aspect of who we are is displayed for all to see and that rawness allows us to connect to one another. When we connect, we have the ability to empower each other. By just buying a ticket to the show, young adults have donated towards the cause. It’s easy and it’s fun.” With there being approximately 1.7 million homeless teens here in the US, homeless teens have a greater risk of becoming victims of trafficking, HIV, assault, suicide, and much more. Most teens facing homelessness live in shelters, abandoned buildings, public places, or even with strangers. Fortunately for Dallas, Promise House has worked endlessly to provide our community's youth with the resources necessary to rise above their obstacles. They have given Dallas teens hope. Katy Simms, Fashion Riot Dallas Founder & Creative Director said, "After facing some of the same struggles, I am honored to assist Promise House with their mission by raising awareness about their cause. Our show's staff is excited to take a stand in such a creative way." Anyone wanting to sponsor Change It Up should contact Katy at 469.751.7121 or Katy@FashionRiotDallas.com.
