Uniting a Community Through Fashion

DALLAS - Jan. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Riot Dallas may be a new company filled with a “millennials” and “Gen Y” staff but their mission is mighty. The local organization will celebrate its launch by joining Promise House for a fashion show, titled Change It Up. On Saturday, March 28th local designers and performers who are ready to make a difference using their creative talents will gather in Addison, TX. Change It Up is aimed to raise awareness about homeless teens and those who help them along the way while making it easy for young adults to give back.

“Something powerful happens when we are free to create something," says Katy, "Every aspect of who we are is displayed for all to see and that rawness allows us to connect to one another. When we connect, we have the ability to empower each other. By just buying a ticket to the show, young adults have donated towards the cause. It’s easy and it’s fun.”

With there being approximately 1.7 million homeless teens here in the US, homeless teens have a greater risk of becoming victims of trafficking, HIV, assault, suicide, and much more. Most teens facing homelessness live in shelters, abandoned buildings, public places, or even with strangers. Fortunately for Dallas, Promise House has worked endlessly to provide our community's youth with the resources necessary to rise above their obstacles. They have given Dallas teens hope.
